Home stories
A feature stone wall.
A young newlywed couple, Mark and Crystal, bought their first home in Yarrow, BC about 7 years ago. It was a small single storey, 950sqft 1960’s 2-bedroom home. They were excited about all the possibilities of this house on such a large lot.
A few years later, they had their firstborn daughter. Add to that two large dogs and everyone was feeling a little cramped as their family grew. They loved the cute town of Yarrow and the space their property offered, so they knew it was time for a renovation.

Construction.
This project had a couple of obstacles right off the bat: Floodplain restrictions and a positive asbestos report. Working with our usual design partner, Integrity Design Studios, we came up with a plan to create a small addition on the back of the existing building, maintaining the protocol of the floodplain restrictions while adding a second level to the existing footprint.
This allowed the addition of two more bedrooms upstairs with a shared 3-piece bathroom, as well as an open-concept rec room. The addition on the main floor allowed for a bigger open concept kitchen, dining, living room space.

Finished and more.
Primar created an incredibly charming country-style home with a beautiful new and very functional layout. A stunning kitchen with a custom cultured stone accent wall added warmth to the entire main floor. All-new siding, windows and insulation brought their old, poorly insulated home up to new home standards. Proper new HVAC allows for fresh conditioned air to every room and allows for future AC if they desire.
New floors, trims and paint throughout created a brand new home feeling while still maintaining all their warm feelings of the property and many memories they already had there. Mark and Crystal were unbelievably happy with the final product and now relax on their new covered front porch in a new home for the whole family.
