New build on a budget.

The Van Der Merwe family purchased a small acreage in North Mission that presented significant challenges, primarily due to its steep terrain. They had been told by the realtor that there was a beautiful building site at the back of the property with a gorgeous view. Unfortunately, the steep and narrow lot made it impossible to build in the location initially suggested, which required us to modify the plans.

Getting started.

The clients were working with a tight budget and were eager to move out of their camper, where they had been living while searching for a solution.

Primar Developments came in with a solution through a design-build contract to find a way to construct the home they needed on the land they had. Where there was once a camper, soon there was excavation, and a foundation for their new home.

The build.

The design of the new home included a basement for future development, for when the family needed more space. Taking advantage of the amazing nature on the acreage, the home features large floor-to-ceiling windows and an offset roof design creating a striking modern look and allowing for even more windows in a vaulted ceiling.

From the first meeting it was clear that Chris was not only knowledgeable but also trustworthy. The build faced several challenges: budget, timeline, a tricky build site and permit issues. Chris tackled each challenge with the know-how that comes from an experienced builder. What stands out the most from our build, is how Chris and his team worked hard behind the scenes to resolve any issues and how thorough they were with every detail of the build. The house was stunning and we felt confident in the quality of workmanship that went into it. We would 100% trust Chris with another project!

The Van Der Merwes, Homeowners

A modern acreage home surrounded by trees.

Primar created a beautiful, comfortable living space for the family of three, incorporating custom special touches. The high ceilings in the family room created a beautiful, open area offering views of their private forest. Having lived for two years in their small trailer, the Van Der Merwes were ecstatic to finally move into their new home.
